More baby butterflies!
Altogether I’ve now collected 4 eggs from the butterfly that laid some on May 7th. Three of them have hatched. Two on Monday and one today. I suspect the last will hatch either tonight or tomorrow morning.
It’s been really cold and rainy here for like a week or so, so I don’t have much gardening stuff to write about. No new pictures either – too wet and nasty out to take any.
These last two eggs I brought in from outside more recently, that is why they are hatching later – since its been so cold outside they were developing slower.
As soon as I get more pictures of something worth seeing, I’ll post them.

Hey, I just found your blog. It’s great! Wow, how cool is that to collect butterfly eggs?!? I had never thought of that before. I might have to give it a try.

Hanna – Its fun raising butterflies! I think the caterpillars are so cute! You’re in Ohio? You should be able to get pretty much the same butterflies there as I do here. Easy ones to attract for me are Black Swallowtails and Monarchs – Spicebush Swallowtails aren’t too hard either, and are really cool!
Dana – I’m glad you’re having fun with it! Isn’t it interesting how when you learn about something the more interesting it becomes? Before I was doing this I didn’t really notice that much about different butterfly species – now I can recognize many different ones easily, can spot a female quickly and all sorts of stuff. I wonder how many other things in the world I’m missing because I just never stopped to notice before?
